SoundCity Is a Go!

11:27

Right these past few weeks have been absolutely hectic, with many triumphs and commiserations, all for good reasons though, which is all for another chinwag! I am happy to announce This Girl and Her Kicks has bagged herself a press pass (delegate pass, as it were) for Liverpool's Sound City, meaning I'll be reviewing the whole weekend especially for you!

I look forward to this every year, the city comes alive, the whole three days is spent to-ing and fro-ing from one venue to the next, from pure intimate delights in the likes of Bold St Coffee and The Attic, to awe-inspiring hauntingly beautiful sets in the Anglican Cathedral as well as down and dirty moshing in The Garage and many more surprises in store. The local meets the global,  Liverpool becomes a Mecca for  the music industry. It's not just the bands that get the spotlight, there's chance for few lucky people who can afford themselves a Delegate pass (£120 a pop) to attend conferences hosted by internationally renowned musicians, sportsmen, innovators giving tips and tricks on cracking all aspects of the music Industry, this year one of those fellows is Jon Cale from The Velvet Undegroud (I can't cope). On top of music, there's plenty of arts to go and see, one year  ScreenAdelica treated Wolsterholme Sq with mexican wrestling showdown. Another fabulous aspect of  SoundCity is the revenue it creates for all our favourite local bars to last another few years and what I'm even more excited about this year, is the amount of local acts on the bill, I can't even contain myself, it's truly stepped up this year to put local music at the forefront the cherry on the cake though is it's like Glasto but without the camping.

With so many acts to see and things to do, I've decided to give you guys a  few little guides over the next week. Top 10's and do's and don't of SoundCity.

Soundcity takes place from Thursday 1st May - Saturday 3rd May.

Tickets range from :

£120 for a 3 day festival pass
